Best Summer Ever!

We are in our second week of summer camp (Best Summer Ever!) here at the Wood River YMCA. Every Wednesday, the kids in summer camp come in during two separate sessions in the early morning for greenhouse and garden learning!

This week, Marie, our Greenhouse Programs Coordinator, made pineapple-banana-kale smoothies for the kids.

For the second activity, the kids were planned to plant perennials outside of the YMCA. One of the many perennials the Y decided to plant outside of the pool area was statice. These perennials make excellent bouquets when harvested in the fall.
