As the snow melts, excited gardeners are prepping for the upcoming season here in the Wood River Valley. Bonni's Garden provides a great space for hosting starts for those who are ready to start seeing some green.

The Hunger Coalition and the Wood River Community YMCA have collaborated using space and seed to plant almost 200 starts for the local Hope Garden and Bloom Community Farm, located in Hailey, Idaho.

kid's Club helped plant a variety of basil, tomato bush, tomato pole, marigold, Joe E Parker NuMex pepper, poblano pepper, and serrano pepper.

With help from the YMCA youth staff, Lynea from the Hunger Coalition, and Suzi our AmeriCorps VISTA, we were able to educate and guide the kids while sowing seeds to fight poverty.

What an awesome treat! The light rain didn't stop us from filling start pots with soil and planting seeds outside.
