It's the first week of May, and we are so excited for the outdoor growing season!

Over the past several weeks, Bonni's Garden and the Y staff have been helping with the sowing and hosting of many plant starts within the community.

On April 6th, we partnered with the Hunger Coalition. Almost 200 starts are up and coming and being cared for to provide healthy plants for the Bloom Farm and/or Hope Garden in Hailey.

On April 27th, the GATE students from Hemingway Elementary walked over and dropped off 15 Milkweed plant starts. The milkweed plants will be transplanted on the west side of Bonni's outside garden to be claimed nationally as a monarch waystation. Very neat project! More information here

Finally, on April 28th, the City of Ketchum Wreck after school program sowed vegetable starts for their Watch-Me-Grow garden. Poo lead 8 students with the reading of information on the seed packets, filling soil in containers, and correctly planting the seeds at respective depths. Hopefully our space will be just perfect for all starts to get ahead of the short growing season this year!

Come on in and see what's growing in Bonni's Garden this month!
